HDLCompanion是一款協助你對HDL(Hardwaredescriptionlanguage-硬體描述語言)獲
取與總攬的工具。所有的設計文件都能直接拖拽到HDLCompanion中，然後用戶很快就
能得到一個設計總攬。無論是Verilog，VHDL還是混合的HDL設計，甚至是未完成或錯誤
的設計都可以加入其中。
HDLCompanion由3個主要的窗口（window）及一個控制窗口組成。這幾個窗口都能提供
客戶設計的總攬。但3個窗口提供的總攬形式各不相同。控制窗口用於顯示所有的錯誤
及警告。這些錯誤和警告可以通過控制窗口的鏈接非常方便的在源窗口中找到。同時控
制窗口也是一個Tci註釋器。所有的Tcl腳本或殼命令都在這個窗口執行。
另外，HDLCompanion還包括了一個文本編輯器（該文本編輯器對關鍵詞敏感）以及一
個連接各主要仿真器和綜合工具的界面。

parsersacceptanyVerilog,VHDLormixedHDLdesigncode;evenifthe
codeisincompleteorcontainserrors.SyntacticallycorrectHDLcanalso
belintedtofindproblemsnotreportedbythecompilers.

HDLCompanionhasauniquesetupofthreemainwindowsandaconsole
window,whichtogetherofferacompleteoverviewofyourdesign,from
highlevelstructuretothedetailsinthesourcecode.Theexcellent
navigationcapabilities,includingsignaltracing,offeryouaneasy
waytofindanobjectandshowitsdetails.TheConsoleWindowshows
allsyntaxerrorsandwarnings,whichcaneasilybelocatedintheHDL
sourceusinghotlinksfromtheConsoleWindowtotheScriptumWindow.
TheConsoleWindowalsofunctionsasaTclinterpreter,whereanyTcl
scriptorshellcommandcanbeexecuted.

Otherfeaturesincludealanguagesensitivetexteditor,revision
controlandinterfacestoallmajorsimulationandsynthesistools.
